Wowowowow...calm down, calm down..!!! LOLOLOLOLOL....
First thing first, don't be angry because this is just a foolish-bored-high-schooler-between-these-never-ending-exams prank. You saw my newest deviation? Yes, yes, the one that VERY SIMILAR to one's work. We don't need to tell each other since she's sooooo popular, right? Her work is ZXVBNMJKHFDSSAF-ly awesome.
In fact, I'm doing an EXPERIMENT..!! And LOL, I don't predict that THESE many ppl would participate in it. //
// Some ppl noted me and commented on my profile- some with reeeeally serious tone and the others seemed to be in rage-mode. O____O 'kay, probably you've received my reply like this," Oh, yes, that's why I disabled comments".Because I didn't want ppl to know that I'm doing this.
And for you who commented right a few mins after I submitted it, I replied to some but I couldn't tell the same lie over and over again so I just disabled it. Please accept my apology, kay? Anyways, I also deleted the deviation because I've got THE RESULT...and because it's so-very-not-original, of course.
Yup, so move on to the experiment..... THE PURPOSE:
I have a few principles, that I always hold on to, in doing arts. They are "The Most Crucial Things in Art" (for me). Here they are in ABSOLUTE order:
1. The Meaning Implied
Some ppl may call it as the 'concept'. For me, it's what you want to tell the viewers through your art. Your point of view, issues, opinions about a phenomenon, etc.2. Style
The one that represents 'YOU'.3. Technique
It's all about values, colors, composition, perspective, anatomy, etc.
I just wanted to know whether these principles are right...or wrong. THE DATA NEEDED:
How long does it take to reach 1000
And lol..!! The result shocked me. I managed to get them all in 6 hours only.
(I know, I know, it's not my original work...please keep reading, okay? ) THE METHODS:
I broke out the first rule.
Yeah. There's no meaning behind that work. It's just a head-shot drawing of my OC in that godly style. Then I waited and see how long it took to reach 1000+ faves. THE RESULT
Ohhh...the result makes me doubting about my principles.
How does a meaningless work like that impressed that many ppl in such a short time? (which took me about 8 hours to make)
Well...for the lame me, it took DAYS to think about the meaning implied and how to tell it to you guys in artwork form -- And a month to make the whole thing like these. |D
Then it reached 1000 faves in a few days, too. I think it's an imbalance proportion. :<Do technique and style beat the importance of the meaning in the work itself?
I'll be waiting for your response, you can tell me your principles and point of view, I need somebody to talk about this okay? Until this time, I've been keeping it to myself-- nobody to talk about this IRL.
Please don't judge me wrong. I didn't do this because I'm a fave-collector or something, I just wanted to know whether I stick to the right ones or not. Art means everything to me. It helps me to communicate with more people, have more friends, and share my little mind to the world. Also, THERE'S NO OFFENSE IN THIS EXPERIMENT. I don't want to say that others' arts are blah blah blah or something. We all have our own reasons to draw, our own way to express ourselves.
This is just all about the ignorant me and my principles.
This experiment was inspired by my nephew. (Yes, nephew, I'm an ancient chinese//shot) He made a similar experiment on Fb about Lady GaGa.
However, don't take this too seriously, because the result isn't completely correct. Of course the fave also depends on how attractive the work looks, even in thumbnail. If it's interesting for you, you'll click it. But if not, of course you won't, yes?In addition, I don't want to take any advantages from this. So if you guys pushed the watch button only because of this work, you can just UN-WATCH it. It's all belong to *sakimichan.
Ps 1: I didn't put my dA address in this work for the very beginning, not as I always do for my other works. (Well, if you pay attention to veeeery tiny details). This is a sign that there's something wrong you know, a siiiign...//le bricked//
Ps 2: Do you notice that I write a short-and-lame poetic sentences in the artist's comment of most of my works? Yes, because it's my reason to draw that!
Ps 3: If you want to see this 'controversial' work, go here [link]
I want to hear about your principles, too, Guys. You rock!
Ps 4: Happy mega-late April Fools!
Now you can punch me, bite me, kick my ass, but please don't kill me..
(I haven't visited Disneyland yet)
AHHHH...!!!! ANYWAYYY....THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL BIRTHDAY WISHES..!!! I know it's super late, but I just want to say this. I'm so happy...thank you so much, Guys!! ;_______;
Now I just got the chance to write a journal-- because my sore throat got worse since two days ago, and now I caught a cold..with fever, so my mom told me to stay in bed. OTLUgh....maybe it's the punishment for doing this to you guys and..eating too much chips.
And..HAPPY EASTER to all of you who celebrate it~
Please check out "...Our purpose is to make a charity art book and donate 100% of the profits to the charity, St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family's inability to pay." This year is their 50th anniversary.
We want to make an art book that will never fail to bring a smile to your face.
This art book is a celebration of life, all the aspects, and pledged to a charity hospital that has been providing fifty years of research and service to helping sick children and their families."
They invited me, too..OMG I feel so unworthy and honored at the same time! It's in A4 and consists of 112 pages. There're over 100 awesome artists all around dA who contribute in it as well~ Haha..can you find my work in it?
